They only announced two such 8K AVRs and this is the upper model. Our company (Madrona Digital) is a dealer for Yamaha so I was able to purchase this at a discount for testing. Retail cost is US $600.

WEBJan 16, 2022 · Today worked on removing volume drop out on rxv6a. Replaced all cables. Under HDMI with HDMI control on, Standby Through - auto, turned 4k upscalling to off. Upgraded to firmware 1.58. Once eliminated sound dropping out, turned memory guard on. I may have changed other settings. Maybe this will help someone.

I’m currently looking to make the move to an AV set up and speakers for Atmos and PS5 gaming and am currently drawn between this unit and the Denon AVR-2700H. I’m moving from a Yamaha YSP-2500 soundbar which was decent without ever blowing me away.

Measurements don't tell anyone that Yamaha's build quality and QC is the highest of ALL manufacturers with the least return rate and defects; at least it was until this debacle with HDMI. I will take a Yamaha RX-V6A over an Emotiva XMC-1 any day because of the problems Emotiva had with premature failures.

WEBNov 2, 2020 · I never took it past -10dB. The other observation I made was relative to the unit it replaces, an Aventage RX-A550. On both units I set the default volume when the power is turned on to -40dB. On the RX-A550 this was always too low. On the TSR-700 (RX-V6A), this is often sufficient for normal TV watching.

WEBMay 17, 2021 · I have the quite recent Yamaha AVR RX-V6A up and running since november last year without any issues. 2 wired fronts (Klipsch) and a network subwoofer Musiccast 100. The AVR is connected to the TV (LG OLED B6V) via HDMI and gets the TV sound over ARC.

WEBApr 29, 2023 · Put some movie in DD, DD+ whatever… and play it with DSP standard and straight and try to turn on and off YPAO VOL/ aDRC. Put volume at low level (-45dB). You will not hear difference when switching YPAO VOL / aDRC in straight mode becuase it is not working, but in DSP mode there is a huge difference that can be heard.

WEBMay 4, 2023 · My personal view, although pathetic and criticised on here, is I would choose the Denon simply for its front display. Another consideration is the V6A has pre outs for the front left and right channels. So, if you have a hi-fi amp you prefer the sound of for music, you can use that and integrate it with the Yamaha for film/series.
