Question about YURTS at. My wife and I have been travelling to Charleston Lake PP for over 20 years now and this coming season (2019) we've rented a YURT (315B). I've tried asking Ontario Parks about the YURTS but they're not being too helpful so I thought I'd try this route. I'm trying to determine what NOT to bring this year. Obviously we don't need our tent, dining tent or cooking shelter but some other things I'm not sure about. I usually have a Coleman stove that has a grill, a griddle and a single burner. I wondered if the BBQ there has a burner for pots and kettles or is it just the grill. Also I know you're not allowed to cook in the YURT but I thought about electric appliances to be used outside on the deck. Does the electricity only go to the outside or is there outlets inside as well for say a lamp or radio?

our experience at Algonquin, we used electric cooking appliances (slow cooker and keurig) in our yurts. We just found that anything that draws a lot of power needs to be plugged into the post outside and not the outlets inside the yurt. Our electric blankets (we go in winter ) kept tripping the breaker inside the yurt so we also had to plug those in to a long extension cord that we plugged into the post outside the yurt.

We stayed in Meadowlands. A bit smaller but still nice. Bayside had beautiful sites with rock outcrops. The campground itself was quite hilly and busier because of its proximity to one of the beaches. I remember the sights on the right as you went in were huge. Note the website warns of which site might contain poison ivy. We brought dogs so that was a big concern for us. Pet friendly beach was great. Shady Ridge gave access to a great trail hike>strenuous but worth it. Travelled into Gananoque. If you go, make sure to visit the tower. The guides at the top are a wealth of information and the view is spectacular. If you plan on taking a boat tour to Singer Castle or Boldt Castle, make sure to take your passport. The tours that disembark require it. Hope you enjoy it.
Q:
Is there hunting allowed in this park at this time.
A:
do not know, from the US where you can never hunt in state parks
