ARLINGTON, Texas — The White Sox acquired right-handed starter Aaron Civale and cash from the Brewers on Friday for first baseman Andrew Vaughn. General manager Chris Getz said the organization had been doing a status check on Civale after learning that he had requested a trade from the Brewers.

The Milwaukee Brewers have traded veteran right-hander Aaron Civale and cash considerations to the Chicago White Sox for first baseman Andrew Vaughn. The move comes just a day after Civale's agent confirmed his client had requested a trade from the Brewers-- with that stemming from his relegation to the bullpen in favor of rookie Jacob Misiorowski.
The longtime rotation stalwart wanted out of Milwaukee and off the Brewers' roster, but he doesn't get to dictate the terms.
