The White House took aim at Amazon on Tuesday after the e-commerce giant reportedly prepared to directly display to consumers the price increases associated with President Donald Trump’s tariffs, sending shares of the Jeff Bezos-founded retailer downward.

The White House press secretary declined to answer when asked if the move had strained the relationship between the president and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Amazon’s new policy is creating a “hostile act” against the Trump administration, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. The massive retailer owned by multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos announced Tuesday it will start showing how much the price of items are increasing due to President Donald Trump's tariffs.
