Shalimar Bagh MLA Rekha Gupta has become Delhi's fourth woman CM as well as the fourth BJP leader to hold the post. So far, none of the previous CMs from the BJP have completed a full term in office.

Rekha Gupta won the Shalimar Bagh seat in 2025 assembly elections with margin of 29,595 votes by defeating AAP's Bandana Kumari.
