TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee Nation on Monday passed a $3.6 billion Fiscal Year 2025 General Operating Budget, marking significant investments in language preservation, education, public health, community services and more. The operating budget was first proposed by Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner earlier in September.

The Cherokee Nation has published official, updated demographic maps reflecting the growing diversity among the tribe’s more than 460,000 citizens and where they live across the country.

The tribe said this is the first time in more than a decade that the citizenship maps have been updated and shared with the public. There is also an interactive map to see where the Cherokee Nation's boundaries are located.
