Ireland has called in help from England and France to restore power to hundreds of thousands of people after the most disruptive storm for years.

When a freighter got trapped in Lake Erie’s thick ice, the U.S. Coast Guard teamed up with Canadian vessels in a mission dubbed “Operation Coal Shovel” to break through the frozen blockade and save the ship’s crew.
