On Monday, the Green Bay Packers released two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander. The 28-year-old defender and former first-round pick is, of course, now free to sign wherever he wishes—with some believing that a homecoming should be in the works.

Alexander grew up in the Charlotte area and the Panthers are still rather thin at cornerback as they enter mandatory minicamp.
