The Rockies traded right-handed reliever Jake Bird to the Yankees for two prospects Thursday, infielder Roc Riggio and left-hander Ben Shields, a major league source confirmed. Riggio was the Yankees’ No. 10 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and Shields was their No. 29 prospect.

Help is on the way for the New York Yankees bullpen. General manager Brian Cashman landed three high-leverage relievers before the trade deadline, picking up David Bednar from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Jake Bird from the Colorado Rockies and Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants.

In a separate trade, the Yankees have acquired righty Jacob Bird from the Colorado Rockies, the team announced. Minor-league infielder Roc Riggio and lefty Ben Shields are going to Colorado in the trade.
