Across the Triad, North Carolinians are remembering Martin Luther King Jr. The city of Greensboro held its annual memorial breakfast, an event it has put on every year since the holiday’s inception in 1986.

Officers said 19-year-old Noah Raymond Way was driving his motorcycle northbound on MLK Jr. Drive when he collided with a Honda Accord. That caused the motorcycle to run off the road and crash into a telephone pole. Way was elected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man on a motorcycle was killed after being hit by a car Sunday, according to the Greensboro Police Department. A press release states that at 3:47 p.m. Saturday, the GPD responded to a vehicle crash with injuries in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr.

All lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive between Julian Street and Douglas Street have reopened after a car crash with injuries, the Greensboro Police Department says. The extent of any injuries is unknown.
