President-elect Donald J. Trump said Tuesday that he planned to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” one of several foreign policy proposals that left world leaders reeling. “It has a beautiful ring,” he said of the proposed name change for the body of water that borders several U.S. and Mexican states.

That’s the quip from former Barack Obama staffer Dan Pfeiffer in reaction to Trump saying Tuesday he’ll move to try to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America,” a name he said has a “beautiful ring to it.”
