Chelsea suffered a poor end to 2024 and travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday looking for a Premier League win over Crystal Palace to start the new year with three points. Enzo Maresca's side lost to both Fulham and Ipswich Town and are now 10 points behind league leaders Liverpool who also have played one game less despite the Blues winning eight consecutive games post-November internationals.

Crystal Palace rescued a point at Selhurst Park after Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a late equaliser to hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw and extend their run without a win. The Blues looked in control of the game after a first half strike from Cole Palmer ended up in the back of the net after some individual brilliance from Jadon Sancho on the right wing.
