South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer said starting quarterback LaNorris Sellers should be ready to go vs Akron Saturday.

After a couple days to put the LSU game behind them, South Carolina Gamecocks' head coach Shane Beamer met with the media to discuss his team's upcoming night game vs Akron. While at the podium, Coach Beamer was asked about some of the SEC's responses to the penalties from Saturday as well as what he would like to see from his team entering next week's bye.

Days after South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers ’ left the LSU game with what coach Shane Beamer called an “ankle sprain,” Beamer updated the health status of his starting quarterback. During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Beamer said, “LaNorris assured me he is good and ready to roll.”

Sellers suffered an ankle injury in the loss to LSU. He helped South Carolina jump out to a 24-10 1st half lead with 4- and 75-yard rushing scores. In limited action, Sellers had the 88 rushing yards and 2 scores, also going 9-of-16 passing for 113 yards.

"As we sit here on Tuesday, I'm optimistic that all of our key guys will be able to play," Beamer said. "LaNorris assures me that he's good and he'll be ready to roll."
