Another day of dangerously cold weather is ahead Wednesday for New Jersey before conditions start to gradually improve during an extended stretch without any signs of snow, forecasters say. High temperatures on Wednesday will remain in the teens and 20s and low temperatures in parts of the state are below zero,

The frigid conditions prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Cold Weather Advisory to be in effect between 12 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday, and some schools to delay openings. The coldest part of the day will be between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., according to Weather Service forecaster Rob Megnia.

CHICAGO — National Weather Service officials issued a cold weather advisory in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday for portions of central, east central and northeast Illinois as well as northwest Indiana. Officials said dangerously cold wind chills may reach as low as 28 below zero causing frostbite to those exposed to the frigid temperatures in as little as 30 minutes.

This new type of weather warning was activated because of the dangerously cold temperatures and wind-chill readings in northeastern Pennsylvania.

The National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory for parts of the state on both Tuesday and Wednesday morning. According to the advisory, wind chills could reach as low as negative 15 degrees in parts of the state.
