Wicked” director Jon M. Chu’s new daughter was born during the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday, and his little one is already quite “popular.”

Chu, best known for his 2018 box-office hit and cultural phenomenon “Crazy Rich Asians,” was born in Palo Alto and raised in Los Altos, where he attended Pinewood School from kindergarten through 12th grade. His parents, Ruth and Lawrence, still own Los Altos restaurant Chef Chu’s.
