The NBA spent two days fully hyping up the Oklahoma City Thunder's 129-122 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The historic matchup featured two teams who won at least 30 games in their first 35 of the season.

Jarrett Allen scored 25 points, Evan Mobley added 21 and the Cleveland Cavaliers ended Oklahoma City’s 15-game winning streak by beating the Thunder 129-122 in a marquee meeting between the NBA’s top two teams.

Both the Thunder and the Cavs have won at least 30 of their first 35 games, the only pair of teams to do so since the Lakers and Bucks in 1971-72.

As they prepared for Friday night’s meeting at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks could roll the film from their first meeting with Oklahoma City a week ago and pick out corrections to make and maybe even — at least in the case of coach Tom Thibodeau — still steam over a mistaken call that helped the game slip away in the final minutes.

The two best teams in the NBA, the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder and East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers, face off for the first of two meetings this month on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland.
