US Trade Deficit Nearly Doubles In November As Imports Spike; India Among Top Trading Partners
India remained among the United States’ key trading partners in November as the US trade deficit widened sharply, due to higher imports and a decline in exports, according to official data released on Thursday.
Gold imports rose by 1.6% year-on-year, totalling $58.9 billion, while silver imports surged by 44% to $9.2 billion, even as both metals traded at record prices.
It’s the smallest trade deficit since June 2009.
