Three law enforcement officers assigned to the troopers’ Soldotna-based SWAT team fired their weapons, troopers said in an update Monday. They identified the three as troopers Sgt. Ethan Norwood, a 12-year veteran; Trooper Jonathan Lindblom, a 2-year veteran; and Officer Charles Lee, a 4-year veteran of the Homer Police Department.

Alaska State Troopers fatally shot a man who shot and wounded a trooper in Kasilof after a four-hour standoff that started late Thursday, according to the state Department of Public Safety. The injured trooper was treated at a Kenai Peninsula hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The man killed was identified as 32-year-old Mason Toloff.
