The National Weather Service rescinded a winter storm warning for Metro Detroit early Sunday morning, downgrading expected snow totals, but continued and expanded them in northern Michigan, where upwards of a foot remains possible in multiple areas.

Gusty winds in Southeast Michigan may create some hazardous road conditions Sunday afternoon as the snow moves out.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning at 3:10 p.m. EST on Saturday valid for Sunday between midnight EST and 4 p.m. EST for Huron, Sanilac, St. Clair, Macomb, Wayne and Monroe counties.

A 'coast-to-coast' winter storm will impact Michigan. Areas along Lake Huron could see as much as 12 inches of snow — maybe more. Where it will fall.
