The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for portions of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Temperatures could feel like 110 degrees in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, making for a sweltering start to the week, forecasters said.

A Heat Advisory goes into effect for much of Southeast Louisiana on Wednesday, including the Greater New Orleans area from 10 am until 7 pm making it a WDSU First Warning Weather Impact Day. It could feel as hot as up to 110 at times within the advised area.
Heat indices, or "feels-like" temps, in New Orleans and Baton Rouge could reach anywhere from 108 to 112 degrees. Other affected areas include Slidell, Hammond, Houma, Gulfport and Pascagoula. Actual high temperatures are expected to be between 93 to 97 degrees.
Heat Advisory in effect as temperatures will feel like the triple digits. Expect scattered storm chances throughout the afternoon and evening.
