An Idaho school district is investigating one of its teachers over alleged social media comments made following President-elect Donald Trump’s election win last week.

But they lived in Idaho at the time, which has one of the strictest abortion bans in the country. The couple contacted several abortion clinics outside of the state and they were eventually able to get an appointment at a clinic in Seattle,

Idaho voters decisively rejected Proposition 1, which would have established open primary elections and ranked choice voting, with nearly 70% opposing the ballot measure.

Republican officials in Idaho offered a resounding congratulations to former President Donald Trump on his historic comeback.

That update means District 26 remains split, with a Democratic senator and two Republican representatives. Idaho Democrats lost three seats statewide this election, not four. The Republican supermajority will be 90 members of 105 total seats in the upcoming sessions of the 68th Idaho legislature.

Though Trump gained percentage points in all other Idaho counties between the two elections, the shift away from third-party candidates in 2020 handed Democrats a win in a third county. President Joe Biden earned the majority of votes in Blaine, Latah and Teton counties.
