Democrats will keep their majority control of the Pennsylvania state House of Representatives next year after holding onto a Johnstown area seat.

Republicans knocked off Democrats in two perennially contested U.S. House seats in eastern Pennsylvania while U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, one of the hardest right members of the chamber, survived a challenge in a southern Pennsylvania district with more moderate politics.

Pennsylvania voters picked two new congressmen to represent them in the nation’s capital. The flips mean the partisan split for the state’s delegation will be 10-7 Republicans – the latest in a string of victories for the Grand Old Party as it fights to maintain a slim majority in the U.

Within two days after Election Day, right-wing activists and two Republican state lawmakers in Pennsylvania withdrew thousands of last-minute challenges to voters’ absentee ballot applications.

Mail ballots in Pennsylvania were counted much faster in this year’s election than in 2020 By 3 a.m. Wednesday, 54 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties had counted 90% or more of their mail ballots, according to data released by the state.
