Thousands of anti-Trump protests are erupting across the United States this weekend under the banner of “No Kings” day.

On the first weekend: a vision of the nation built upon inclusivity and the tenets of liberalism — a conception of country that incorporates generations of fights for equity, for compassion, for expanding what it means to be an American.

The June 14 "No Kings" protests, organized by activist group Indivisible and its partners, are part of a "nationwide day of defiance," with events slated to occur across the country. Falling on Flag Day and Trump's birthday, the day of protest are intended to help counter Trump's planned Washington, D.C. military parade.

Protesters in hundreds of big cities and small towns in the U.S. — except for Washington, D.C. — will take part in the No Kings rallies on Saturday. On the same day, the U.S. capital is hosting a military parade to mark the U.

No Kings has identified on its website more than 1,800 cities nationwide, including about 70 in Michigan, where demonstrators are set to gather to express disapproval.

As many as 2,000 protests are planned across the country. Organizers say they’re meant as a counteraction to Trump’s lavish parade, which also happens to fall on his birthday.
