New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced en route to defeating the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday evening. Sorokin surrendered the game's opening goal on a Tyson Foerster wrist shot in the first period but shut the door for the remainder of the night.

Sorokin's 29 saves led the Islanders to a 3-1 victory over the Flyers. The New York Islanders picked up a key 3-1 Metropolitan Division victory over the Philadelphia Flyers Friday night.
