Two unidentified snowmobile riders face charges for repeatedly running over a red fox in Lebanon County earlier this month.

The pair turned themselves in Jan. 24, and admitted to authorities that they had chased the fox with the intention of running over it, Salsgiver said.

The fox's hunting prowess involves stillness, sharp senses and dramatic leaps. By penetrating snowpack layers, they reach prey hidden beneath.
