North Eugene High graduate Stephanie Alvarez hopes to become an advocate for mental health in the medical field. After losing her father to alcoholism, Alvarez had to confront her own mental health.
Alvarez moved to Eugene in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. She said she attended Kelly Middle School online, but her first introduction to in-person school was her freshman year at NEHS.
Alvarez earned several scholarships, including $6,000 from the Singer Foundation, $2,500 from the Eugene Airport Rotary Foundation, $2,000 from the Assistance League of Eugene.
