Look Up on Friday Night and You Just Might See the Bootids Meteor Shower Some folks already caught a sci-fi-level glimpse of it on Thursday, when a blazing meteor put a hole in a Georgia house.

A meteor streaked across the skies of the Carolinas during the Bootids meteor shower Thursday afternoon, NASA confirmed.

This timing coincides with the Bootid meteor showers which peaks on June 27. According to the International Meteor Organization, the shower is active from June 22 to June 27.

This meteor is likely connected to the current meteor shower. A meteor is defined as a rock or other substance from space that enters the Earth’s atmosphere.
