Toy and game maker Hasbro is looking at moving its headquarters from Rhode Island to downtown Boston, according to a new report.

Hasbro may be leaving Rhode Island. Every few years, the toy company talks about moving, and the politicians say they want Hasbro to stay. NBC 10 News reached out to the company, which confirmed the search in a statement.

Hasbro – named for the two brothers, Henry and Helal Hassenfeld, who launched the company in Providence as a maker of pencil boxes in 1923 – dates to the time when Rhode Island’s capital city was an industrial powerhouse.
