Vodafone Idea has begun fresh talks with the Indian government for "remedies" related to $8.4 billion in owed dues, the telecom operator said on Monday, days after the country's top court dismissed a plea to re-compute the dues.

New Delhi: Vodafone Idea Limited has secured a deal worth $3.6 billion (Rs. 300 billion) with Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung for the supply of network equipment over the next three years. This agreement marks the first step in the company's three-year capital expenditure plan of USD 6.6 billion (Rs. 550 billion), according to its official filing.

With excellent timing – considering last week’s downbeat headlines about AGR dues – Indian operator Vodafone Idea has announced the conclusion of what it quite reasonably describes as a US$3.6 billon megadeal with three global network partners.
