In the hours after the weekend shooting spree targeting Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota, information was still just trickling out.

U.S. Capitol Police increased security for Klobuchar and Smith following the attacks, which occurred early Saturday morning. Minnesota's entire congressional delegation, both Republicans and Democrats, released a joint statement condemning the killings.

At the Kansas and Missouri State Capitol buildings, you have to go through security and capitol security guards on duty at all times. But those measures don't extend to lawmakers at their home.

Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman, State Sen. John Hoffman and their spouses were all shot early Saturday in targeted attacks.
