For 108 straight days, the Chicago Cubs possessed a share of first place in the division. The Cubs’ consistency, especially offensively, kept them in control despite injuries to the rotation while owning the best run differential in the majors.

Impressively, they managed to shift into an even higher gear heading into the All-Star break, winning their last seven games — three of them against the mighty Dodgers — by a combined score of 40-14.
