The earliest the answer to who will become Sacramento’s next mayor won’t be known until at least Friday, three days after the election. Residents might have to wait until next to find out who won as county elections officials provide updates ballot counting.

Sacramento County results arrived in three separate waves on election night, with the first released shortly after the polls closed at 8 p.m., another around 10:15 p.m. then finally again around midnight.

There are more than a dozen races for education boards in Sacramento County and while some candidates have pulled early leads some contests remain extremely close. Sacramento City Unified School District In the race for District 3 Jose Navarro has taken a sizeable lead over his opponent Rolanda Wilkins.

It won't be a nail-biter election night for dozens of candidates in County, and that's because they've already been declared the winner.
