Clara Tauson of Denmark upset second-seeded Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek of Poland 7-6 (1), 6-3 on Sunday night to reach the National Bank Open quarterfinals

The upset came one day after world No. 2 and top seed Coco Gauff fell in straight sets to Canadian wild card Victoria Mboko.

Clara Tauson had never beaten Iga Swiatek in three previous attempts, until now. On Sunday night in Montreal, the Danish No. 16 seed flipped the script with a gutsy 7-6(1), 6-3 win, knocking out the Wimbledon champion and ending her nine-match win streak.
