NORTH TEXAS – Snow continues to fall across North Texas after a winter storm warning was dropped early Friday morning. Several inches of a wintry mix of sleet and snow were forecast to fall over North Texas between Thursday and Friday. This marks the first winter storm of the season.

An ERCOT weather advisory indicates a significant storm is approaching, and Texans may experience extreme winter conditions that could impact their power supply. This winter storm is expected to bring snow,

East Texans are without power as of 6:35 p.m. on Friday, after a winter storm blanketed many areas of northern East Texas with snow overnight. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for all of North Texas until 12 p.m. Friday. Early Friday morning, the originally issued winter storm warning was canceled and replaced with the advisory.

The National Weather Service said a tenth of an inch of ice could accumulate on bridges, and some areas could get up to a quarter inch. But the main travel impacts are expected to be from sleet and snow.

A classic winter storm came across Texas bringing us some of the best kind of precipitation as in snow but for us, we saw more of the nasty side as in ice.
