Woodward, who shared a Pulitzer Prize with Carl Bernstein for the Washington Post’s coverage of the Watergate scandal that helped uncover details that resulted in Nixon’s resignation, also penned the 1986 book, “Wired: The Short Life and Fast Times of John Belushi,” which Murray does not approve of.

Hollywood star Bill Murray recently suggested that former President Richard Nixon may have been "framed" by journalist Bob Woodward.
Jane Fonda received the Lifetime Achievement accolade at the 31st Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
Legendary comedian and actor Bill Murray said a 1986 book by Bob Woodward about his late friend John Belushi was so inaccurate it left him questioning the former Washington Post journalist’s Watergate reporting.
Anyway, Murray also believes Nixon was “framed” by Bob Woodward — sort of — but for an entirely different reason. See, Woodward, who broke the Watergate story with Carl Bernstein for The Washington Post back when that was a real newspaper, also wrote Wired, a biography of John Belushi—an original SNL cast member and a close friend of Murray’s.
According to the original reporting from the New York Times, Fonda sued Nixon, who resigned from office on August 9, 1974, for $ 2.8 million alleging that the president and top government officials conspired to deprive her of her constitutional rights.
