The National Weather Service has issued several severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of Lake and Marion County until 9 p.m.

On Tuesday at 5:31 p.m. an updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 5:45 p.m. for Fayette and Tuscaloosa counties.

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 7:04 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 7:30 p.m.

A fast-moving derecho with winds up to 99 mph swept across the Upper Plains and Midwest, downing trees, damaging property, and leaving thousands without power.
