The New York Yankees (42-25) capped off a dominant series in Kansas City with a gritty 1-0 win on Thursday night, completing a three-game sweep of the Royals (34-35) behind a strong start from rookie Will Warren and some late-inning small ball.
Judge busted Garrett Crochet's shutout bid with a one-out bomb to left out of Fenway Park, but the Sox catcher picked up their ace in the bottom of the 10th with a game-winning Wall-ball.
The Royals did manage to score before the game ended, as Salvador Perez launched a two-run homer off Mark Leiter Jr. in the ninth after a routine popup fell in the Yankees’ infield. Leiter then gave away another run with a throwing error.
