Apple Inc. was notified by the European Union that its geo-blocking practices are potentially in breach of consumer protection rules, adding to the iPhone maker’s regulatory issues in the bloc.

The EU has ordered Apple to cease geo-blocking in its media services, such as the App Store and iTunes. The European Commission identified questionable practices and threatened enforcement. Apple has a month to address the issue;

The European Commission said on Tuesday that along with national authorities it was calling upon Apple to stop geo-blocking practices on Apple Media Services.
