Chicago rapper Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty following his indictment by a grand jury on felony charges in connection with an alleged murder-for-hire plot that targeted rapper Quando Rondo, which could leave Lil Durk facing life in prison if he’s convicted.

Lil Durk’s legal fight for his freedom has officially begun. Yesterday (November 14), the “ All My Life ” rapper was arraigned in Los Angeles federal court for the murder-for-hire plot of fellow rapper Quando Rondo and firearms charges he was hit with over the past several weeks.

Lil Durk, real name Durk Banks, faces additional conspiracy and gun charges that were filed this week in relation to a 2022 shooting in Los Angeles that targeted Quando Rondo and left his cousin dead.

Rapper Lil Durk has hired Drew Findling, a highly regarded criminal defense attorney, to represent him in a murder-for-hire case.

The Grammy-winning artist’s high-profile attorney and the seriousness of the claims have garnered attention. Drew Findling is an accomplished Atlanta criminal defense lawyer who has represented Donald Trump, Cardi B, Gucci Mane, and Offset. Prosecutors say Lil Durk placed a bounty on Quando Rondo in 2022, killing his cousin.

Durk, 32—legal name Durk Devontay Banks—was arraigned in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles Thursday after being extradited from Florida.

The Lil Durk case is yet another troubling example of the criminal justice system intersecting Hip Hop in the most violent of ways.

The rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, released a song that “sought to commercialize” the shooting that targeted Quando Rondo and killed his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, according to an indictment filed last week.
