Italy on Tuesday picked Vermiglio by Maura Delpero as its best international feature Oscars submission. The movie beat out a shortlist of 18 Italian contenders including Paolo Sorrentino's Parthenope at a meeting on Tuesday of the selection committee in Rome.

Italy will send Maura Delpero’s World War 2 drama Vermiglio into the 2025 Oscar race for Best International Feature. Vermiglio premiered at the Venice Film Festival last month, where it scooped up the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize.
