Two more Valley youths have been arrested in separate incidents, one in Surprise and the other in Buckeye, involving school threats, according to authorities. >> Live, local, breaking. Download the 12News app The Surprise Police Department said it had arrested a 14-year-old after threats of violence were made against Valley Vista High School.

Officials with Buckeye and Surprise Police say they have made arrests in connection with two separate school threat incidents within their area.

Schools across the U.S. have been rocked by a spate of false threats of violence in recent weeks, forcing them to evacuate or temporarily close. Why it matters: Threats of bombs, shooters and other dangers disrupt learning and stir community-wide anxiety about school safety.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is reporting the threat made to Martinsville High School was allegedly made by a 15-year-old female student. According to the sheriff, on September 24, the sheriff’s office and Virginia State Police received information that a threat was posted on Instagram.
