Peter Rice, former chairman of Walt Disney Television and head of 21st Century Fox, has been hired to oversee the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.

LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman revealed that the former Disney executive will oversee content for the city's Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Organisers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have named TV and film executive Peter Rice as head of ceremonies and content, marking the first time a major Hollywood figure will oversee the creative production of the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.
