Los Angeles and cities around the nation are bracing for 'No Kings' protests ahead of Trump's military parade as an appeals court ruling keeps the National Guard under the president's control for now.

More than a thousand people gathered in Wilmington on the morning of June 14 as part of "No Kings" day, a national day of protest planned on President Donald Trump's birthday and the Army's 250th anniversary celebration.

No Kings organizers said they intentionally avoided having an event in Washington, so Trump couldn’t use the protest as justification to crack down on demonstrators or label the movement antimilitary.
