There is so much physics involved in vortices. Conservation of angular momentum and fluid dynamics are some of the main principles. When a fluid starts to rotate, it creates a difference in pressure between the inside and outside of the rotating flow. This pressure difference causes the fluid to continue rotating, forming a vortex.
